1 2. What purposeful diction AND syntax choices did you make to
enhance your writer’s voice? You must choose to discuss at least one diction AND one syntax technique from
the list below. Make sure to include textual
evidence from your post where you included the diction and syntax choices
you discuss.
Response: My syntax choice that enhanced my writer’s
voice was sentence length which is medium. I chose this one because a medium
sentence length allows you to get the message across to the reader without
boring them and not making it feel to long. An example of this is when I write,
“Maybe I wasn’t far enough into it because to me it was a total bore” I was
able to tell the reader I found it boring and it may have been because I wasn’t
far enough into it without a lengthy explanation. For my diction that I used to
enhance my writer’s voice, I used was low or informal diction. An example of
this is when I say, “I may continue reading some other time but not now” this
shows low diction because I could’ve changed continue to presume or another
word but I used continue because it is the best word to describe it and has a
different meaning that the other words which could be seen as denotation and
connotation also.
